This page applies to accounts created on www.mmatrust.com or in the MMA Kolkata Android app, both operated by Mercantile Marine Academy, Kolkata. You can request deletion at any time; there is no charge.
How to request deletion
- Send an email to the address below from the email address registered on your account, or use the Contact page.
- Use the subject line “Delete my account” and include your full name, registered email and, if you have one, your INDoS number so we can find the right record.
- We will confirm the request by replying to your registered email, then delete your account. You will receive a final confirmation once it is done.
What is deleted
- Your login and profile: name, email, password, phone and WhatsApp numbers, date of birth, profile photo and Google sign-in link.
- Cart contents, saved enquiries, referral and promo-code history, and any unused coins or membership benefits.
- Online exam reference photos and proctoring logs, once any result dispute is closed.
- Uploaded documents that are not part of a completed training record.
What we must keep, and for how long
- Records of courses you completed, attendance, assessments and certificates issued. As a DG Shipping approved Maritime Training Institute (MTI No. 303013) we must keep these for the period required by the Directorate General of Shipping.
- Payment receipts and fee records, kept for the period required by Indian tax and accounting law.
Deletion requests are completed within 30 days of confirmation. These retained records are no longer linked to a login and are not used for any other purpose. You can also ask us to delete specific data, such as an uploaded document or your profile photo, without closing your account. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
