COMPETENCY COURSES Courses — DG Shipping Approved (Kolkata)

This Course is conducted through Physical Classroom Training at Mercantile Marine Academy (MMA), Kolkata, in accordance with DGS Order No. 11 of 2022. All candidates are required to be physically present at the MMA Kolkata campus and attend the scheduled classroom sessions. Saturdays and Sundays are generally observed as holidays unless otherwise notified by the Academy. The mandatory DGS E-Learning module for this Competency Course must be completed through the DGS E-Learning Portal (Competency Section) during non-class hours and holidays, and must be successfully completed prior to the completion of the course. A DGS Online Certificate Fee of ₹200 (inclusive of GST) is applicable for issuance of the course certificate and will be collected at the time of course booking.

This is a D.G. Shipping Approved course of 4 Months Duration. The course enables a Seafarer to attain the required Knowledge & Competence to become as 2nd Engineer onboard a FG ship after clearing the DGS Examination. This course is Mandatory for Seafarers holding MEO Class 4 COC and aspiring to appear for MEO Class 2 Examinations at MMDs.
